Bayesian Word Sense Discrimination

Speaker:
Jenine Turner
Abstract:
Word Sense Disambiguation is a popular research area, but supervised approaches run into the knowledge acquisition bottleneck. Thus, interest has turned to Word Sense Discrimination, where there are no labeled training data. In this talk, I will present a Bayesian approach to Word Sense Discrimination, giving some preliminary results, and discussing difficulties arising from varying degrees of granularity of available test data.
